BuildLens Support
BuildLens works by capturing Xcode build diagnostics, keeping recent build sessions, and helping you compare what changed from one build to the next.
A build is not appearing
Make sure BuildLens is running, then perform another build in Xcode. If capture appears stalled, use the app’s restart-watcher control and build again.
The build appears incomplete
Xcode can still be writing its activity log immediately after a build finishes. BuildLens retries incomplete logs automatically, so give it a moment before rebuilding.
The wrong project is in view
Open the recent build history and select the session for the project you want. BuildLens keeps recent sessions so you can move between them without losing the last result.
Too much noise is showing
Use the diagnostic filter and search field. You can also hide low-value build-system notes so the error and warning list stays focused.
A warning keeps coming back
Pin it if you want it kept visible, or ignore it if it is known and not useful right now. Pin and ignore preferences are preserved between sessions.
New / Fixed does not look right
BuildLens compares the current build with the previous build for the same project. A first captured build establishes the baseline; comparison begins with the next build.
Open in Xcode does not jump correctly
BuildLens uses the file path and line number contained in the diagnostic. If Xcode cannot resolve the original file location, confirm the file still exists at that path.
Copy for ChatGPT seems too detailed
That command intentionally includes the diagnostic context needed for troubleshooting: severity, file, line, column, message, and raw diagnostic text. Use Copy Clean Error when you want the shorter version.
I want to test BuildLens manually
Use Import Plain-Text Log… to load a text or log file, or use the sample-diagnostics command to verify the interface without waiting for a real Xcode failure.
I want to start fresh
Use Clear Build History to remove stored build sessions. This is useful if you want to reset the comparison baseline and begin again.
